A Trekking Journal (Present simple/continuous - Hard - All

uses)
Today is (be) the second day of my trek around Mount Annapurna. I am
exhausted and my legs are shaking (shake). I hope I am able to complete the trek. My feet are
killing (kill) me and my toes are bleeding (bleed), but I want (want) to continue.

Nepal is (be) a fascinating country, but I have a lot of things to learn. Everything is (be) so
different, and I am trying (try) to adapt to the new way of life here. I am learning (learn) a little
bit of the language to make communication easier. However, I don’t learn (learn, not) foreign
languages quickly. I don’t understand (understand, not) much yet, but I believe that I am
improving (improve).

I am currently travelling (travel, currently) with Liam, a student from Leeds University in
England. He is (be) a nice guy, but impatient. He always walks (walk, always) ahead of me and
complains (complain) that I am too slow. I am doing (do) my best to keep up with him, but he is
younger and stronger than I am. Maybe, I am only feeling sorry for myself because I am getting
old.

Right now, Liam is sitting (sit) with the owner of the inn. They are discussing (discuss) the
differences between life in England and life in Nepal. I don’t know (know, not) the real name of
the owner, but everybody calls (call) him Tam. Tam speaks (speak) English very well and he is
trying (try) to teach Liam some words in Nepali. Every time Tam says (say) a new word, Liam
tries (try) to repeat it. Unfortunately, Liam also seems (seem) to have difficulty learning foreign
languages. I just hope we don't get lost and have to ask for directions.
