Laboratory Report # 6.

Momentum and Impulse

Topic: Impulse and Momentum

Objective: Create an investigation on the science behind objects that are

colliding.

Task #2: Find a problem to investigate related to the presented objective.

Problem: What factors affect the force of impact in collisions?

Task #3. Declare your hypothesis.

Possible The surface area of contact ,initial velocity and weight/mass.
Answer:

Task #4: Reveal the plan of your experiment.

Tips in creating an experiment plan:

• Nominate the variables you want to relate.

Dependent variable: Egg size, landing surface and drop height

Independent Force of Collision Impact

variable:
Task #5. Results of the Experiment.
Newton’s Second Law of Motion
When dropped, the egg is accelerated by gravity. When the air resistance (the force
experienced when placing one's hand out in a strong wind), which increases with increasing
velocity, equals gravity, the egg's velocity will remain constant. This velocity is known as
terminal velocity.

Task #6. Conclusion.

In Newton's Second Law, it states the direct relationship between the external forces acting
upon an object and the object's change in momentum. The force increases as the time
required for the change decreases.
