are pleased to inform you that we complete the review of your application for an ESL

tutor in Joy English and we would like to invite you to the next step of the hiring
process.

Right now, we prefer the schedule Monday to Friday 17:00 – 00:00 Korea time.

The name of our company is JOY ENGLISH and this company has been running since 2014. The
company is providing online English tutorials for Korean students who want to improve their
English skills and prepare for their important tests. The company is based in Seoul, South Korea,
and our employees are working at the convenience of their homes.

Before we proceed with your application, we just want to inform you about the following:

 Starting rate in average


o No experience in ESL Teaching: 100-120 pesos per hour
o With experienced: 120-140 pesos per hour
o Level test conductor: 150 pesos per hour
o And additional promotion exists: ~ up to 210 pesos per hour

 Bonuses are perfect attendance bonus, commendation bonus, referral bonus, Story Telling
bonus, and Christmas bonus.
 Yearly rate increase will be based on your performance.
 Students are all Koreans

NOTE: Further discussion of these will be done during your onboarding with the Operation
Team.

 Main duties of tutors in Joy English

i. To conduct English class during tutor’s opening working hours

ii. To write ‘daily correction’ for the students in charge after every class

iii. To correct ‘writing notes’ for the students in charge

iv. To have training or mentorship sessions based on the results of class monitoring
by the QC team

v. To manage the classes and students

Document Screening

• To take the inventory of the qualifications on résumés

• To acknowledge the application

• To request essential information or documents


Initial Interview

• To check teaching Environment (sound, video, audio, space, device, Internet, backup
power etc.)

• To ask simple questions about information on the résumé and documents submitted

• To double check the pre-set criteria including available working time, when to start etc.

Mock-class1

• To conduct a class for 20-30 minutes (by using a given material in advance)

• To demonstrate how to manage a real class according to the directions

• (Additional mock-class could be required after completing onboard training)

Onboard training

• To have OJT (for 2-3 hours); preliminary knowledge and information to be a JE tutor

Salary negotiation

• To make an agreement with the starting rate (generally based on the performance and of
the recruitment process and specifications in documents)

A. The entire process of recruitment is conducted online except for exceptional cases.

B. If the details on the résumé and documents submitted in the recruitment process are not true, the
admission will be revoked.

C. Certifications, references, education, working experience, and other specifications could not be
acknowledged without attached documentary evidence.

D. Cases that the additional mock class could be required

i. When the applicant and mock-class evaluator both decide to expect better quality in
another chance

ii. When the applicant has experience in the advanced or specialized courses such as
business course, TOEFL, IELTS etc., so would get a higher rate
