HFCT 60/55

The High Frequency Current Transformer (HFCT)

is a split-core sensor specially designed for
coupling of high frequency PD signals from
electrical apparatus grounding and transferring
the same to measurement device. The HFCT can
be utilized for online as well as offline PD
measurements on any part of the PD signal loop
between the insulation electrodes where the
outgoing and incoming signals do not cancel each
other out. Applicable for highly sensitive PD -
measurements with superimposed line currents
or high reactive currents (50/60 Hz) up to 500A.

Field Application

 Online and offline PD measurement on encapsulated GIS cable or transformer cable

terminations where no coupling capacitor can be connected
 Online and offline Time Domain Reflectometry for PD-fault location with optimized low-
frequency (50/60 Hz) suppression even at high currents
 Offline PD measurement on HV cable without using a coupling capacitor according to
the international standard IEC 60270.
