Ever since kid, thanks to my grandmother, I’ve always been keen on egyptian

mythology. Egyptian mythology is the collection of myths from ancient Egypt,

which describe the actions of the Egyptian gods to give a reason to the world
around them.
From the beginning, symbols and icons are frecuently used to represent their
deitis, often appearing with animal heads and human bodies. Just as us, egyptian
population tried to explain the creation and create a bond between two worlds.
natural elements or forces were and are worshiped. They also included dead people, their
beliefs include reencarnation and eternal life, to ensure this, funeral rituals like sarcophagus,
momifing, among others, were religiously done.

Some of the most known symbols are:

- Ra’s eye: it’s the right eye, it represents power, strenght and life. It’s actually ane
xtension of Ra’s power and equals to his femenine and his violence with enemies.
- Horus’ eye: it’s the left eye, it symbolizes protection, health, and restoration.
- Maat’s feather: it’s a peacock feather and simbolizes trith, justice, and moral.
- The Ankh represents eternal life, trasendence and infinite. It was implicated in the
funeral rituals.
- The egyptian scarab represents life, birth and creation, it’s deeply related to the Sun.

There are many other symbols with their specific meaning and origin.

Talking about gods we have five groups. Everyone has at least one temple of their own. and,
as a curious fact, they are all family.
- The Grat Ennead includes Thot’s souls. Their main god is Atum followed by Shu,
Tefnut, Nut, Geb, Fefis, Isis, Osiris and seth
- The Ogdoad of Hermopolis is formed by Amon, Nunet, Num, Huhet, Huh, Kek,
Amonet and Keket.
- Elphantine triad formed by Satis, Anuket y Jnum, being Jnum el dios principal.
- The triad of thebes that includes Amón, Jut y Jonsy.
- And the Triad of Memphis Ptah, Sekhmet and Nefertum.

there are also mythological creaturs, related to civilzations and myths. The most known are
Ammyt, Apofis, Bennu and the sphinx

Some myths that I feel like are curious enough to tell in tis presentation are

The punishment: it refers to the places where dead are sent after geting through OSiris
tribunal judgment. There some may be burned, beheaded or getting their heart teared by
creatures

One of the funerary rituals was to put the ankh on the dead body mouth, believing that it
will give them the “life breath” and so they will found the way to eternal life.
