“The case for the defence”

Alternative Ending
Mrs Salmon couldn’t be certain that the man she saw dropping the hammer was either
of the Adams, she doubted for second before raising her voice once again. “I cannot be
shore nor can I swear who did it because they look identical” she replied to the judge
and the counsel “But trough the murkiness of the night I could see that the accused had
a hammer tattooed in his left arm” Mrs Salmon explained.
The judge made a gesture to the police in the court room, implying to look for the man
with the tattoo in the left arm. There it was. The accused Adams looked pissed, for a
split second he thought he could get away with it. The other one simply broke into tears,
realising he was free.
The judge slammed the gavel, “I declare this trial over, take this man to his execution”.
Death came like a whisper, in a cold air, dressed in black and hugged Mr. Adams who
looked with pride to all the witnesses, he had no feelings of remorse, he had his motive.
It was done, justice was done, a life for a life said the people while the other Adams
shook his head with depression pinching trough the corner of his eyes.
