For any of us in the room today, let’s start by admitting we’re lucky.

We don’t live in
the Europe the Jews have lived in, the trade unionists have lived, and the “lower-raced”
citizens lived it; we grew up in a world with basic civil rights, and distressingly, many still
don’t have them.

Some may say that the Rise of Hitler does not deserve Global Awareness; as a time
where Fascism, extreme ideologies, and imperialism rose around the world, Hitler’s actions
are responsibilities of a man and actions done by one person that need not be remembered by
moderns as guilt towards history. What said was not deemed evidently wrong, as individual
decision takes a role; but a critical matter and forever an incident to be remembered, the Rise
of Hitler deserves global awareness for the causes of his rise to power, events initiated by
him, and effects of his regime on the present world.

Standing after me, is an audience in deep thought! Standing after Hitler, are the
Crowds’ cheering, Jews’ howling, Soldiers aching. You may say: I understand, I feel
sympathetic, that must be enough. That is very correct, individual acknowledgement is
important. But I want to inform you; in this world there are many unmindful, and awareness
is the answer to such doubt, unfamiliarity, and disagreement! Global Awareness is what
preserves freedom and human rights! That is dignity of a being, a society, and a humanity

May the awareness be in you and all. God blessed the world; we shall treasure the
blessings.
