 Changing the Way We Work

Long time ago, all people feel comfort with the way of their job for the rest of their life.
Then ICT was invented and getting used to in many company, and some of people getting scared
because of their job being taken by a machine. The fact is it was true. Robots have been taking
over production job in manufacturing industry. When automated systems came in the service
industries, makes some of banking getting cut. In the same time, when technology made some
job got disappear, there’s a new variation of workers. For example, software engineering and
website design. On this day, all of the people need to change and more get more train their skills

Actually, the workers who lost their job was not caused by modern technology, they need
to train a new skills. Many workers train and got their new skills and make them find a new job
in customer service industries, especially like customer service. Meanwhile, some people stayed
in their job but discovered a different way to do it. For example, long time ago writer and
journalist using a typewriter for their job, now they are using computers to do their job. People
became realize that technology make them changing the way of they work and their
responsibilities more increase. People feel more happy with their job.

ICT does not make the often way of a job became different, but ICT begins to make a
different the way of the job where it finish. Some of office workers can still do their job even
they have to work in another place, Companies see the opportunity of technology can make
possible way to get contact with their staff even in their home by using computers and
telecommunications to stay contact with the office.

Long distance work has benefit for staff and the company. Company does not have to out
much budgets because they does not need a bigger office to use. Company may get their new
staff that who live in long distance from their office or people who had a problem with their
scheduled if they work in normal office hour: for example, a woman who have children. In the
same time, they did not have to direct control of their staff. All of the staff can save their time
because they did not have to get travel to long distance and they can make their workstation
more comfortable. But, long distance work can have their own problem, like the staff work by
itself, misunderstanding with a concept that have been planning with the other staff or doing a
job as a group. They may have an issue with home life and work time.
