Bible Reading Plan:

- Proverbs (1 Chapter) “Daily”

- Psalms (1 Chapter) “Daily”

- Old Testament (2 Chapters)

- The Gospels (2 Chapters) “Matthew, Mark, Luke, John”

- Book of Acts (1 Chapter)

- Epistles (1 Chapter) “Letters/Any book after Acts”

Proverbs: It is our daily wisdom. There are 31 chapters in Proverbs just how there
are 31 days in a month. I suggest to read the same chapter number of whatever day
it is on the calendar. For instance, if today is the 7th of July, then I would read
chapter 7 of Proverbs. This is good to read every morning so you can start your day
with wisdom.

Psalms: It is our daily worship/praise. King David (which you will read about in
1 & 2 of Samuel) wrote most of the psalms. Sometimes they start off pretty
depressing, but towards the end of each chapter, they always end by praising God.
This is good to read every night before going to bed, so that no matter what you’ve
been through, the hardships and successes, you will always end your day by
praising God.

Old Testament: It is our daily history. Read about the wonderful things God has
done through and for the people of Israel starting in Genesis. If you don’t know
what or who Israel is, then read the Old Testament! The first 17 books are in a
timeline order of how Israel came to be and how the promise that God has for them
has also extended to us by connecting the Old Testament to the New Testament. I
recommend reading at least 2 chapters in order to get a better understanding of
God’s great love story towards creation.
The Gospels: It is our daily bread. Gospel means good news, and that good news is
about Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. The Gospels are four separate documents
written by four different people (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) writing about the life
of Jesus our God. One of the Holy Spirit’s job is to bring remembrance of the
things that Jesus has spoken (John 14:26) but how can He do that when we don’t
even know what Jesus said?! This is why it is important to read the gospels. When
you finish one, move to the next one. When you finish all four, re-read them! It
will speak to you differently each time because the word of God is alive! And
those words will never pass away. (Matthew 24:35) I recommend to read 2
chapters to understand the context because a lot of what you read in one chapter is
tied to the previous chapter or the chapter after that.

Book of Acts: It is our daily action. Acts is about all the things the disciples of
Jesus, who became apostles, have accomplished by and through the Holy Spirit.
Everything you read in Acts are things the Holy Spirit can and is still doing today!
The Holy Spirit is still moving and you can see how it all began for us in Acts
Chapter 2. I recommend you read 1 chapter of Acts. Enjoy!

Epistles: These are letters written to the church by a few of the apostles. Any book
after Acts is considered an epistle. It literally teaches you how to be a better
Christian. Many churches at the time were doing all kinds of bad things! So the
apostles wrote letters to those churches teaching them what’s right and wrong and
how to deal with certain people or situations. I suggest reading at least 1 chapter of
each book in order so that you may implement it in your daily life. Strive to look
more like Christ!

You have a big collection to read off of! The way to go about this is whatever you
haven’t read yet, start that one next. For example, if you just read 2 chapters of the
gospels, then move on to reading a chapter of acts or 2 chapters of the Old
Testament. Whatever you haven’t read, read that section next. If you haven’t read
an epistle, start one! Its up to you how often you ought to read, if you want to read
1-2 chapters a day then that’s fine. Read a combination of everything to get a grasp
of everything. Good luck with your bible reading!!!
