Further to 065 order No.02 of 2012 dated 17" May 2012 regarding banning of the Use of Thurayo, Iridium and other such Non Inmarsat satelite phanes in Indian waters {and PFSO, Dhamra mail on 21" December 2013 regarding reportedly usage of such set around Ohamra waters, the Incident of usage of such communication sets are coming to ur notice, This has created unnecessary confusion and embarrassment :0 port and port sors, All agents ave advised to inform ships coming under their agency to ensure strict compliance of the ahove mentioned 06S order. All vessels are henceforth requires to provide the following details 96 hours prior their arrival to hamra port along. with preatrval information on email id ‘cco@sdani.com and copy to maringens@adani.cam besides their statutoy declaration in the Pre:Acrival Natification an Security (PANS) 4. The Directorate is receipt of latter from Ministry of Shipping, along with copy of MHA fax message No, 122014/HS/2011 dated 1219/2011 on the above subject. 2. The uso of Thuraya, liridum and other such Satelite phone is banned in India Under Sec 6 of Indian Wireless Act and Sec 20 of Indian Tolegraph Ac. Its intimated to all Shipping companies / Shipping agents that use of Thuraya, Irrdum and other such Satelite Is banned in indian waters and seafarers should not us the same. 3, Satelite phones can be used only aller @ no objection certificate is issued by Department of Tolacommunications (DOT) on a case to case basis, 4. The shipping agents should mandatoriy intimate the details of person carrying Thuraya and the particulars of Thuraya, tridum and other such sels in Pre Arrival ‘Notification on Security (PANS), 5. Tho unauthorized holder of Thuraya, Iridum and other such Satelite phone can be prosecuted under Sec 6 of Indian Wiralass Act and See 20 of Indian Telegraph Act. 6.
