Inclusive Education

- a learning environment that promotes full personal ,


academic and professional development of all learners
irrespective of race ,class, color, gender, disability, sexual
preference ,learning style and language.
- It is when all students, regardless of any challenges they
may have, are placed in age-appropriate general education
classes that are in their own neighborhood schools to receive
high quality instruction, interventions, and supports that
enable them to meet success in the core curriculum (Bui,
Quirk, Almazan, & Valenti, 2010; Alquraini & Gut, 2012).
❑There are 231,000 learners with disability in the Philippines,
according to data from DepEd. (2020)
❑Study showed that one in every five persons with disabilities is a
child aged 0-14, with around 26.56 percent poor Filipinos with
disabilities being children. (DAP, 2018)
❑Children with disabilities are still combating with Education
Exclusion .
❑There are 40,066 Children with Disabilities in the Context of
COVID-19” said they did not have access to education during the
health and economic crisis. (Save the Children rapid Survey, 2020)
❑Children of Indigenous people number about 14-17 million across
the country. (UNDP, 2013)
❑The national data as of SY 2018-2019 showed a total of 2,593,555
IP learners enrolled in 39,994 public schools; 253,113 IP learners in
10,980 private schools nationwide. (DepEd, 2019)
❑More than 140, 570 Muslim elementary and secondary pupils are
attending (ALIVE (Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education)
in public schools. (DepEd Order No. 41, s. 2017)
❑More than 120,000 children have been affected by war conflict,
24,000 children of school age are among the displaced. (Marawi
Siege, 2017)
❑Street Children are about 250,000 to 1 Million. (DSWD,2019)
❑75% are children on the streets;
❑25% are children of the streets;
❑70% are boys
❑Working children are growing in number.
❑ Philippines Child Labor Survey indicate that 13.4 per cent (1.4
million) of boys and 8.4 per cent (0.8 million) of girls ages 5 to 14
are in economic activity. 1.6 per cent (0.3 million) of children
participate in the labor force without attending school. The
percentage is approximately thrice as high for boys (2.5 per cent)
than for girls (0.8 per cent). (ILO, 2018)
