ACTIVITIES UNDERTOOK IN THE ENT UNIT

1. Setting up the Ear, Nose & Throat unit in February, 2019 in the facility.
2. Giving of Health talk / education at the out-patient department on various
E.N.T conditions every Friday morning.
3. Celebration of World hearing day (3rd March) by giving health education at
an online radio station at Nungua Market.
4. Disseminating information through the Nungua and its envious on the
availability of ENT on the facility mainly at the OPPS ie. OPD and ANC
5. History taking of clients in order to help in diagnosed of their conditions.
6. Prescribing Medications to clients reporting to the clinic.
7. Attending of annual ENT Scientific Conference sponsored by the facility.
8. Attending of Unit heads meetings held at the facility every quarter.

ISSUE OF CONCERN
 Lack of staffs (E.N.T nurses)
 Small office space which makes undertaking of procedures a bit different.
 Low patronage due to a cash & carry system (NHIS yet to absorb ENT
serum)

RECOMMENDATIONS
 At least two (2) ENT nurses should be available for uninterrupted services
throughout the year.
 A bigger office to accommodate the services
 Absorption of ENT services onto the NHIS.
