LUBRICATION
SERVICE INTERVALS

Check transaxle oil level every 30,000 miles. Manufacturer does not require fluid replacement unless repairs are
made or oil is noticeably dirty or contaminated.

CHECKING FLUID LEVEL

On all models except Santa Fe, remove filler plug and ensure oil level is even with bottom of filler hole. On
Santa Fe models, remove speedometer driven gear, ensure fluid level is between "L" and "F" marks. Add fluid
if necessary. Reinstall filler plug and tighten to 22-26 ft. lbs. (30-35 N.m). Tighten speedometer driven gear to
35-53 INCH lbs. (4-6 N.m).

RECOMMENDED FLUID

Manufacturer recommends HP Gear Oil SAE 75W-90W (API GL-4).

DRAINING & REFILLING

With vehicle on level surface, on all models except Santa Fe, remove filler plug and drain plug. On Santa Fe,
remove speedometer driven gear. Drain transaxle oil into suitable container. Install drain plug and tighten to 22-
26 ft. lbs. (30-35 N.m). Fill transaxle with recommended fluid. Ensure oil level is even with bottom of filler
hole. Install speedometer driven gear and tighten to 35-53 INCH lbs. (4-6 N.m).

ADJUSTMENTS
LINKAGE

No external adjustments are necessary.
