Production Roles

Oakley’s Premium Fresh Vegetables, winner of the 2022 Horticulture NZ ‘Environmental Award’, has
several positions available in our Production Team. These roles are based in Southbridge and range
from trainee to supervisory level.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst other things:

• Groundwork when required
• Helping plant/establish crops (potatoes, beetroot, pumpkin & broccoli)
• Crop maintenance
• Basic maintenance of machinery
• Spraying and irrigation when required
• General horticultural farm duties

Depending on the level of the position, you will have:

• Tractor driving experience.
• Experience harvesting, cultivating, planting, spraying and irrigating (preferred).
• A great attitude towards working with & producing quality crops.
• The ability to be adaptable to changes throughout a busy seasonal environment.
• Good organisational skills.
• Great communication & inter-personal skills.
• Ability to go the extra mile and get the job done.
• Flexiblity - due to the nature of the industry you must be available to work extended hours
and weekends when required.
• A qualification in Agriculture/Horticulture or proven farming experience.
