Respecting people around the world requires a commitment to human and

indigenous rights. Understanding that indigenous groups have a unique perspective on

the land, connections, and culture, as well as the right to uphold that perspective, is

made possible by the UNDRIP. The UDHR also defends that right, as well as your

freedom to live according to your views, so long as we are not harming other people.

Although it is your birthright to be whoever you choose to be, you do not have the right

to degrade someone simply because they are not like you. The UNDRIP serves to

defend indigenous people's rights, which have long been denied to them.
