Lesson Plan for Kindergarten

(Prepared by: Ms. April Caye T. Caday)

I. Subject Matter: Math

Topic: Repeating Patterns
Objectives: At the end of the discussion, the learners will be able to:
a) Identify simple Repeating Patterns
b) Complete and give the missing object in a given combination of continuous and
repeating patterns
c) Create and draw their own repeating patterns
Materials needed:
● Crayons
● Bondpapers
● Real objects
● Cut-out Pictures

Lesson Procedure

Preparatory Activities:
The Teacher will ask the learners to stand up and will choose a learner to lead the prayer.
She will then let the learners sing the Philippine National Anthem. After singing, the
Teacher will remind the pupils about their classroom rules and will ask some questions.
The following questions:
1. How are you today?
2. How are you feeling? (Sad, Happy, Sleepy)
3. What day is today?
4. What is our weather for today?

A. Introduction
The teacher will introduce a game to the learners, the game is called “SPOT THE
DIFFERENCE” she will show a 2 sets of pictures. The mechanics of the game is to identify
the difference between those 2 pictures presented in front. The teacher will ask some
questions.
1. What have you observe to the first picture?
2. What have you observe to the second one?
B. Interaction:
After asking questions, the teacher will show some real objects that are shown in the
picture. (Book, Ball and a Hat) She will arrange the objects and will make a pattern
out of it. She will define what “Repeating Pattern” is. (Repeating Patterns is a type
of pattern in which elements repeat in a simple manner of it is a sequences of
objects that repeat constantly and regularly). The Teacher will call some learners to
draw their own Repeating Patterns on the board.

C. Integration:
After discussing what “Repeating Pattern” is. The Teacher will give another
activity. She will group the learners into 2, she will then give each group a pattern
and an envelope. Inside in each envelope contains cut-outs. They will use the cut-
outs to complete the pattern and paste it on the board. After the activity, she will
recap what Repeating Pattern is and she will ask some following questions.
D. Evaluation
The teacher will give a worksheet to the learners to determine if they were able
to identify the missing figures/objects in a given items.
