IELTS Trail Lesson Notes

1. Before we start our lesson, I would like to ask you all a question. As we all
know IELTS tests four language skills and you may see how does it test from
this graph. The four skills are of the same importance as you total score would
be the average of your scores for each skill. Now, here comes the question.
Where should I start when I prepare for IELTS exam? Which skill should I
work on first to achieve the best result in IETLS preparation?

Based on my experience and Chinese students’ learning needs, I would put

the preparation of the four skills in this order. Start with reading, by reading
aloud and getting to know new vocabularies, we understand the way of
English pronunciation that helps us to identify words in speaking section. And
according to our experience, Chinese students can score higher marks in
these two sections than the other two. We have to put our best energy on
something that can help us the most. Through reading, we get better
understanding on writing structures and accumulate vocabulary and phrases
which helps us in writing. If you cannot write well, how can you speak well.
Even your pronunciation and intonation are perfect, you talking would sound
nonsense to the examiner if you are not speaking the way they expect you to.

2. If So, let’s get to know how to ace in IELTS reading. Reading is an important
part of learning English. To improve our skills in Reading strategies + technics
in answering questions can help us tackle any problems in IELTS readings
and achieve a good score. For those students who are more conservative for
example, you ideal result would be band 5 or 5.5, technics in answering
questions can help to kick your goal. If you have done your research on he
internet, you may probably find out the suggested way to do ielts Read
questions would be read the question, find the positioning words and identify
the synonym or paraphrasing part between the article and the question.

Let me give you an example and let’s see how it works. This technics based
method works for some questions in reading. When I say some, it measn it is
not a skeleton key which can unlock all questions. Can this help you if you
encounter these qustions.

3. There’s no proper nouns, no numbers, nothing special about positioning, how

are we going to tackles all these problems? Use other nouns to position? That
means you have to read the whole passage. How can we improve our
efficiency in reading? One of the best tips on improving reading is to think
about how you read in your own language. How do you read newspapers?
How do you read train schedules? How do you read novels?
4. Reading is an important part of learning English. This guide to how to improve
your reading skills will help you improve reading by using skills you use in
your own language. In other words, one of the best tips on improving reading
is to think about how you read in your own language. Start by thinking about
how you read different documents. How do you read the newspaper? How do
you read novels? How do you read train schedules? Most likely, we use these
two reading strategies. Let’s think about how we read a book? We start with
the title, which tells us what it is about, and then start to read the content page
to read for chapters and subtitles
