What does it mean to be

❶ “Southeast Asian” in identity?
Note: Not just Filipino identity, Thai identity,
etc. but “Southeast Asian” identity. Also,
not Asian identity generally, but a
specifically “Southeast Asian” identity
Our Southeast Asian identity perceives a goal and interests throughout
the ASEAN countries and enhances our role to being a key member in
promoting cultural exchanges.

What common interests are
❷ shared by “Southeast Asians?”
Note: Interests refer not to likes and wants,
but to the stakes generating benefits
and/or threats
-Countries included in ASEAN have one main goal which is to start building
a better community wherein they share values and ideas on how to
improve security for their communities instead of promoting democratic
values that can harm people in their countries. Helping one another to
protect their countries instead of starting an argument that can affect not
just their countrymen but also their economies and relationships with other
countries.

In what ways does ASEAN enable

identities and the promotion of integration, and security cooperation. It promotes understanding, creates
regional unity, and improves the region's general well-being
