Study Guidelines

1. Homework: we expect you to do it! The Scriptures urge us to study and meditate on the word of God so that we can grow in our understanding and application of Gods word to our lives. This Bible study is one of the means to accomplish that. Homework: if you dont have your lesson done we ask that you would not participate in the class discussion. We encourage you to still attend class whether your lesson is completed or not, but we do ask that you refrain from participating in the discussion if you didnt do that portion of your homework. Obviously, to share your thoughts about something you havent studied would not be helpful and would lead to a pooling of ignorance. Class discussion: we want everyone to participate in the class discussions. Because of this, we ask that you be aware of how often you share your answers. Some of you may need to speak more; some of you may need to speak less. Being on time: we ask that you work diligently to arrive to class on time. We consider the group singing, announcements, and memory verse recitation an important part of our Bible study program. Our Bible studies begin at 9:30 am and end at 11:30 am. Prayer: you will have opportunities to share prayer requests during our class time. We consider our prayer time in our groups to be a time where we can pray for one another, not your friends mothers aunts daughter who has a hangnail. Please limit your requests to you and your immediate family. Try to keep your requests spiritually motivated (salvation, growth in the Lord, sensitivity to sin, etc.). Childcare: our church graciously provides childcare. There are times, however, when we need extra help in the childcare. If you sign up for a certain day, please be responsible to show up on that day. If you cannot make it, please try to trade with someone else or let Kristal Gunn know as soon as possible. Nursing moms: please feel free to bring your new baby to Bible study. We only ask that if your baby becomes noisy that you would leave the class until your baby quiets down. We also ask that if you do need to nurse during class that you would nurse under cover of a blanket or nursing apron. Announcements: we ask that any announcements be limited to events within our church family only.
