Project II: BIONIC TRANSFORMATIONS


THEORY:
Bionic - Application of biological methods and systems found in nature to the study and design systems.

Transformation – Act or process of transforming or change.

Transformation in ecology is a fascinating phenomenon. One form transforming to another during life’s developing stages
has always enthused architects and designers who have used similar concept to show transformation of spaces /
volumes through design.

OBJECTIVES:
To design a transforming space from café to a transaction space to a library, keeping in mind that the functions of spaces
mentioned are distinct and unique to their spatial organization and are within the umbrella of a digital Interactive Library.

CATALYST:
Inspiration from daily examples of transformation; Steam transforming to water and water transforming to ice and vice
versa.

South street seaport, on pier 17. 3rd floor of Pier 17.

3d rendering – 4 (1/4” or 1/8” scale)
Model – 1 (1/4” scale or 1/8” scale)
