CONTEXT AND PERSPECTIVE:
Valorant is a free-to-play first-person tactical hero shooter developed
and published by Riot Games, for Windows. Since Valorant has
become active within esports, the researcher look for an available
dataset over the internet to perform this descriptive study. The
objective is to evaluate the relationship between the capacity of the
player win based on its damages, kills, deaths, and assists. At the
end of this study, the factors contributing to capacity of the players to
win a game, how the number of damages, kills, and deaths, and
assists contribute to the players’ gameplay, and anticipate the
possible losses of based on the dataset will be the expected results.

ORGANIZATIONAL UNDERSTANDING:
The goal is to better understand how a Valorant player can succeed
or win a game more often. The researcher recognize the factors that
will contribute to the players’ capacity to win based on the number of
kills, deaths, assists damage rate, and believe that by investigating
the relationship between a number of those factors, The researcher
would be able to understand the players’ winning ability. To do this,
the researcher used correlation as a way to model the relationship
between the factors that will be investigated. The researcher will use
correlation as a it is a statistical measure of how strong the
relationships are between attributes in a data set.

DATA UNDERSTANDING:
In order to investigate, enlisted is the following correlation matrix of eleven (11)
attributes. The data set is comprised of the following attributes:

• Damage: This is the average damage done per round in all player's
games.
• Headshots: This is the total headshots hit from all games.
• Aces: Contains the number of aces.
• Clutches: Contains the number of round clutches.
• Flawless: Contains the number of flawless rounds.
• Firstbloods: This is the total firstbloods from all games.
• Kills, Deaths, Assists, Wins: These are the total kills, deaths, assists, and
wins from all games.
• Win_percent: This is the win percentage per round in all player's games.

DATA PREPARATION:
The following steps are done to prepare the data set for correlation:

1. Download the data set from Kaggle and rename it based on the
required filename (dataset.csv).
2. Upload in the Python directory.
3. Observe the values of each attribute.
4. Check the dimensions of the data.
5. Check if there are any missing values. Cleanse the data. Do the
data preprocessing and display at least three (3) data visualizations.

MODELING:
Then the correlation matrix was created in Python as correlation
coefficients will be used to measure the strength of the relationship
between each possible set of attributes in the data set.

Because we have eleven (11) attributes in this data set, our matrix is
eleven columns wide by 11 rows tall. All other pairs of attributes will have
a correlation coefficient of less than one.

Correlation coefficients will fall somewhere between -1 and 1.

The screenshot of the modeling is on the next slide.

EVALUATION:
Considering the relationship between the kills
attribute and the wins correlation coefficient
is 0.9600. It is a very strong positive
correlation.

The positive correlation means that as one

attribute’s value increases, the other attribute’s
value also increases. But, a positive correlation
also means that as one attribute’s value
decreases, the other’s also decreases. The
negative correlation exists if one attribute’s value
Player kills Player wins Player kills Player wins
decreases, the other attribute’s value increases, increases also increases falls also falls
and vice versa.

EVALUATION:
Considering the relationship between the
assists attribute and the wins correlation
coefficient is 0.8400. It is a very strong
positive correlation.

The positive correlation means that as one

attribute’s value increases, the other attribute’s
value also increases. But, a positive correlation
also means that as one attribute’s value
decreases, the other’s also decreases. The
negative correlation exists if one attribute’s value
Player assists Player wins Player Player wins
decreases, the other attribute’s value increases, increases also increases assists falls also falls
and vice versa.
BUMA 30063 – Fundamentals of Descriptive Analytics 14
EVALUATION:
Considering the relationship between the all
the attribute and the win_percent correlation,
all their coefficients are within the range of
negative 0.4 to 0. Therefore, the absolute
correlation coefficient has a very weak strength
or simply, no correlation at all.

The correlation of zero means there is no

relationship between the two variables. In other
words, as one variable moves one way, the other
moved in another unrelated direction.
