Public Health Internship

Presentation
By: Harrison Martin
Introduction
Good Afternoon! My name is Harrison Martin and I am a recent graduate of Georgia
College & State University with a bachelor's degree in Public Health. As many of you
know, after I finish my internship I will be attending nursing school at LaGrange College
to receive my bachelors degree in Nursing.

I wanted to start off by first telling you why I chose Primary Pediatrics as my internship
site.

Now I would like to tell y’all how much this place has impacted me and how all of you
have helped me through this internship.
Background of Primary Pediatrics
Primary Pediatrics was founded in 1998 in Macon, Georgia. Since then, they
have opened five different locations. These locations include Macon, Forsyth,
Bonaire, Warner Robins, and McDonough. Primary Pediatrics is a full service
primary care physicians office for children ages newborn to twenty years old.
The main goal of Primary Pediatrics is to make pediatric care convenient for
families, with five different locations and after hour services. They also serve
their patients and families by providing an in-office pharmacy. Primary
Pediatrics in Macon currently has five pediatricians that strive daily to make
their patients feel loved and cared for. Along with the pediatricians they also
have staff that does the same.

My Project Idea

An educational, informative, and fun health fair

hosted by Primary Pediatrics
What is a health fair?
According to Workplace Testing, a health fair is a workplace event that
features educational activities related to a variety of health issues. It often
includes representatives from various organizations that promote awareness
of certain health concerns and promote health and wellness, demonstrations
of various health and wellness related products and activities, education and
demonstrations related to health issues that specifically pertain to the
workplace, and health screenings.
