Proposal

In response to the Council call for entries this paper suggests Dr. Alejandro Díaz to be
honored as a local hero.

My choice
Alejandro Díaz is a psychologist who works as a teacher and therapist. I met him when a
friend of mine was going through a deep depression. In that time, we did not have money
enough to pay a specialized medical service. In the worst crisis my friend experienced
someone gave me Alejandro´s contact information. I called him and he was willing to help
immediately. It was striking as he was so efficient and in turn he just asked for a voluntary
fee.

Reasons for my choice

The main reason for choosing Alejandro Díaz is that he has helped not only my friend, but
also, he had led many other people to overcome serious hardships and illnesses such as
rapes, alcoholism, and domestic violence. He is extremely generous and give professional
therapy for free or at a very low cost. Most of his patients are thankful because of
Alejandro´s support and deemed him as a role model.

Honoring my hero
If this proposal is accepted, I would suggest that the Council funds a therapeutic center
where Alejandro could be able to provide social assistance. The institution could be known
as Alejandro Díaz medical center.
I hope you will consider Alejandro Díaz as a local hero candidate as he deserves to be
honored.
