ARTWORK IN THE TIME OF
COVID

by Gilbert L. Banta
Art is a universal language.

Humanity used images painted on cave walls to tell

stories thousands of years ago. via the years, artists
have communicated history via their works of
architecture, sculpture, painting, and other media.
Artists express their feelings and experiences in a
sketched line or a burst of color, expressing joy,
grief, rage, and tranquility.
ARTWORK
During the pandemic, I tried to explore different activities that
could be done at home. For one, painting. i started with painting
by the numbers. It as an easy way to be productive and have a
pattern to follow. These were one of the activities that helped
me stay on track during those difficult times. It was an outlet for
me to express myself in a way that was different than usual

Tammy Shella, an art therapist has observed how using

creativity may reduce anxiety and aid in the processing of
heavy emotions. Even if you won't win any prizes for your
stick figures or crocheted toilet paper covers, making
them might help you express your creativity and find
some calm.
