Grading Policy:
Item Points Duration Remarks
Attendance in lectures 5 points Compulsory Biometric Attendance
Tutorial Marks 5 Points Compulsory Biometric Attendance
Announced Quizzes 20 points 50 minutes Closed book/ notes.
(2) (10 points for each quiz) Scientific calculators
Mid-semester exam 30 points 120 minutes Allowed.
End-semester exam 40 points 180 minutes Tables will be provided.
Total 100 points

Re-grading: For re-grading, please return the mid/end semester examination/quiz copies during
the timeslot in which the answer scripts are distributed after writing your comments on the top of
the answer scripts. If you are absent from that class, you lose the right to appeal. Afterwards, re-
grading requests will not be considered.

Note that re-grading may also reduce the marks. Unreasonable requests will certainly fetch
a penalty.

Makeup exam policy: For missed mid/ end-semester exams/quizzes, a single makeup exam after
the end-semester exam will be conducted per the standard practice requiring approval from DOAA.
If a student misses an examination, they must immediately contact the Instructor to be considered
for such an exception. This consideration will be applied for ONLY one missed exam/quiz. The
makeup examination level will be higher than the regular ones; therefore, do take the regular ones.

Attendance Policy: Students failing to maintain less than 75% attendance will be de-registered
from the course.

I-cards: Carrying I-cards is mandatory in all classes/ examinations/quizzes.

Mobile phones: Mobile phones should be kept in switched-off mode during lectures and tutorials
and should not be in possession during the exams (Mid Sem/ End Sem/ Quizzes). Strict adherence
is essential.

Tutorials: You must carry your scientific calculator and your textbook (including property tables
given in the text book's appendix) during the tutorial sessions.

Misconduct of any kind (such as adopting unfair means during examinations) will be
reported to institute authorities in addition to deregistration from the course. Using unfair
means or unethical behaviour in the course will lead to harsh punishment.
