Exile in Dapitan
July 17 1892 Rizal arrive in Dapitan on Board
the steamer Cebu.

Through pained by his punishment in Dapitan,


Rizal used his timed and skills productively.

He kept himslf busy withvarious occupations


as a physician, engineer, educator,
agriculturist, inventor, etc

Arrest & Trial

On December 6,1896, the trial of Rizal was arrested whule enroute


Dr. Jose Rizal by the Spanish to Spain, imprisoned in Barcelona
military court for sedition and sent back later to Manila to
rebellion and conspiracy began stand trial. He was charged with
being a traitor to Spain and
03 mastermind of the revolution.

He pleaded his innocence but he


was still convicted on all three
charges of rebellion sedition and
conspiracy and sentenced to
death.

Execution

At around 6:30, Rizal was taken from cell and the March to
01 Bagumbayan began.

Rizal requested the firing squad to spare his head which was
02 granted. He also requested to be shot at his front but it was
denied.

Rizal was executed on December 30,1896 in Bagumbayan


03 (Luneta) which has been renamed Rizal Park in his memory.

He was executed by the Spanish Colonial government for the


04 crime of rebellion after the Philippines Revolution inspired in
part by his writings broke out.
