Speed Sensor for Hydraulic Vibrator Heads

Testing

SPEED SENSOR TESTING 3. With an Ohmmeter you should get a reading greater
than 200 Ω. If the reading is 200 Ω or less, replace the
sensor (Part #W420-005). Even though it is functional, the
Testing at the Connector (General Maintenance) rotational speed will be incorrect.
1. Orient the speed sensor connector as shown in Figure 1.
Notice orientation notches located on left and right side
of the inner ring.
2. Use an Ohmmeter to measure the top and left pins. Use
the K Ohms scale.

Testing the Sensor (Functionality Test)

1. With the Ohmmeter still connected, bring metallic object
near the end of the sensor.
2. Pass the object past the sensor.
3. Observe the Ohmmeter. If the reading drops and recovers
as the object passes in front of the tip of the sensor, then
the sensor is working. If the reading does not respond,
the sensor is not working and needs to be replaced.
