CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT

This Contract of Employment is made between Table Top Private Limited Ma16, Republic of
Maldives (herein after referred to as the Ernployer) and the undersigned Employee and fully
identified in Part One below.
This Agreement is construed in English Language and under the Employment Act (Law No: 2/2008) of
the Republic of Maldives and the Parties agree to the following.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Introduction
In consideration of the premises and representations hereof,
which form an integral and essential part of this Contract of
Employment, and the covenarrts and agreements herein set forth,
and other good and valuable considerations, the receipt and
sLrfficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, Lemollgrass
Private Limited and the Employee hereby agree as follows:

Commencement Date
This agreement shall be enforceable from the date of signing of
this agreernent. The terms of this agreement shall be acted upon
until termination from employment.

Performance and Appraisal


The following criteria shall be the standard to evaluate the
perfbrmance and appraisal of employee

Punctuality and attendance at work and availability to attend to


work anytime required by the employer unless specified
otherwise in the job description.

Carry out the obligations under the employment to the best of the
abilities and in the most elficient and beneficiai manner.

Carry out the obligations under the employrnent as required by


the employer and obey the guidelines and directions given by the
senior staffs.

Take great care to protect the property of the en"rployer and


refrain from any act which may cause harrn to the emplo1,er.
Not to deceive or defraud any documents (including the
employees records) or records of the employer.

To act in accordance with the Lau,s and regulations and norms of


Islam and Maldives.

Probation period
Unless otherwise stated in this Agreement, the Employee will be
required to undergo an initial period of three months' probation
from the date of employment. The confirmation of the
employment is subject to the satisfactory perforrnance of the
duties.
If the employer terminates the contract dlrring the probationary
period, air ticket from Maldives to the airporl nearest to his home
country will be provided by the employer. if the employee
tetminates the contract. he should bear the cost of air ticket.

Accommodation
Sharing accommodation w-ill be provided in Male'. Full lie in
maintenance will be provided.

Working hours
The Employee shall work 09 hours a day excluding breaks.

Meal
Every employee is entitled to a break of 30 minutes for meal in
every five hours.

Extra work
The Employee agrees to work on extra hours/days where the
Emplo,ver requires so.
In situation of urgent need or emergencies in w'ork, the Employee
agrees to work in excess to normal routine and normal days or
hours, as the requirement may be. as per the instructions of the
Employer.

Salary and Other


Allowances
The Employee is entitled to receive his salary for the month ended
not later than 5th of every calendar month.
Promotion and extra allowances of the employee is subjected to
the pertbrmance and the beneficial acts towards the employer.

Off Days
The Employee is entitled to a 2 (two) day paid holiday each
month. This off day shall be allocated as per the guidance of the
senior staff'of the employee.

Annual Holiday
Employee is entitled to 30 days as annual leave upon completion
of 01 year of service from the date of employment.
Annual leave shall be taken with the approval from the senior
staff in such a way it does not disturb the work of the employer.
Annual Holiday

Air Ticket
The employee shall give 30 days' prior notice of the proposed
annual holiday.
The Employee shall bear all costs of relocating to Maldives.
including air ticket, at the beginning of employment.
The Employer shall provide air ticket fi'om Maldives to the airporl
nearest to the Emplovees home country when the Employee
leaves fbr annual leave and, after completion of the two-year
contract.
Please note that this entitlement including air tickets if not
availed. have no cash value and are not redeemable in any lbrm
at the end ofthe contract.

Family Obligation
Leave
Every Employee is entitled to a 10 days leave per annum for the
member of his/her tamily becoming sick. This leave is subiect to
submission of required documents. For the purpose of this clause,
famil.v is considered as wife. husband, children, and parents.
lf the employee is unable to attend work due to il1 health. the
employee shall notify the relevant supervisor at least 2 hours prior
to the time of reporting specifying the reasons and the predictable
time of return.
Every employee entitled to a paid 30 days of medical leave. If the
sick leave period is more than 2 consecutive days, the employee
is required to submit rnedical certificate issued from a registered
medical practitioner stating the type of sickness. if the employee
is absent to work in any other way. he shall be considered to be
absent to work and the employer has the discretion to take action
against the employee as per olause 18 of this agreement.

Injuries at Work
The employer shall bear the cost of medical expenses towards the
employee if any injury is caused to the employee during work,
until a register medical practitioner declares that the medication
is over or if the injury is lifb long, until such time.
The employee shall allow the consulting practitioner to disclose
the inforrnation about his/her health condition to the employer so
as to enable the employer to evaluate the condition of the
employer to continue w'ork. The employee shall request the
consulting practitioner to disclose such information to the
employer. The employee also agrees to consult a medical
practitioner referred by the employer. However such a part should
be registered in the Maldives.

Fine
The employer is entitled to impose t-rne and deduct fiom salary of
employee if he/she does not attend to work on time. The
deduction shall be limited to the time of absence only.
The employer is entitled to deduct liom the salary and other
monthly allowances if the employee is absent to work without
taking leave as per required.
The employee shall be liable to make good any damages or loss
or bear all costs incurred to repair such loss/damage, if the
damage or loss is caused by the negligence or carelessness or by
willtul act of the employee.

Termination and
Disciplinary
measures
If the employee fails to carry out the obligations and obey the
code of conduct under the employment, the employer is entitled
to take the following disciplinary rleasures.
Advice/Counceling
Written warning
Demote to a lower position

Termination without
notice
The employee shail be dismissed without notice if the
an employee's work ethic is deemed unacceptable and further
continuation of employment is on reasonable grounds seen
by the employer as unworkable. Employee's terminated fi'om
employment under this clause is entitled to all the wages fbr the
days worked.
Should the Employer terminate the employment sontract before
the expiry of the Employment Contract, other than on
misconduct/misbehavior or on disciplinary grounds mentioned
below. he/she should arrange air ticket for the Emplyer from
Maldives to his/her home country.
if the Employee terminates the employment contract, before the
expiry of the Employment Contract. the cost of air ticket should
be bome by the Employee himself
Subject to the above clauses, the following is the set criteria for
assessing the conduct of employee.
Any further continuation of employment is likely to be
detrimental to the employer or to the workplace. The fbllowing
may'be considered detrimental to the employer.
Convicted for a criminal offence or detained for a suspected
criminal offence u,ith sufficient evidence (fbr the purpose of this
agreement, the employer may consider the presence of sufficient
evidence if a courl of law orders the detaining);
Wrangling at workplace or near the place of work:
Cheat in attendance;
Disobey reasonable gLridelines on purpose;
Spread rumors which disturbs the harmony of staffs;
Disclose secrets of the company
Be fraudulent towards the employer or anyone eise; sexual
harassment

Payment in lieu of
notice
Employment can be terminated without notice provided that the
employee's wages and other benefits for the required notice
period (from the date of commencement of the notice period to
the date of termination of the notice period) has been paid in lieu
of notice.

Resignation
The employee may resign lrom employment by giving notice in
writing, 30 days' notice if the period of employment is less than
5 years or 2 months' notice if the period of- employment is more
than 5 years.

Miscellaneous
The employer shall not be responsible fbr any act of the employee
which is against the Larvs and regulations of Islam and Maldives.
If the emplovee is convicted tbr any such act, the employment
shall be terminated without due notice.

Confidentiality
The employee shall exercise care and due diligence in
maintaining the confidentiality of the company. Confidential
information of the company shall be considered as the financial
situation, accounts of'the company, future projects and any other
information which the employee is not allowed to disclose under
the employment.
The restriction above will apply during and after the terrnination
of the agreement. The intbrmation acquired at the time of
employment shall be used only for the purpose of employment.

Perfonnance record
The employee shall request for a written performance record of
employment within six months from the date of termination fiom
employment.
Coveming Law
This contract of Employment shall be governed by the Law of the
Republic of Maldives. An,v dispute arising from this agreement
shall be ref-erred to the Employment Tribunal of Maldives.
