Accident Prevention Signs & Tags

Any signs and symbols requires in the construction site shall be visible at all times when work is
being carried out and shall be removed or covered promptly when the hazard no longer exists.
The colours and symbols used shall be conforming to international standard. The sign text
should be in Arabic & English and any language understood by majority of employees.

1. Danger / Prohibited Signs:

Danger or prohibited signs shall be in red meaning on

action is forbidden or stop action. The symbol shall be
inserted inside the circle in black and the text in English,
Arabic and other languages as white letters of red base.

2. Warning Signs:

Warning sign shall be to warn or advice of a hazard /

danger in the yellow and black. The black out lined
triangle shall contain a black symbol on yellow base.

3. Mandatory Signs:

Mandatory signs shall be in blue & white and shall be

compiled by all persons. White symbol and text shall be
located inside a solid blue circle.

4. Fire Equipment Signs:

Fire equipment signs shall be used to identify fire

equipment and its location. The symbol and lettering
shall be in white on a solid red background.

5. Traffic Signs:

Construction area shall be posted with legible traffic

signs at point of hazard. All traffic control sign and
devices used for the protection of employees/public shall
conform to standard set by RTA

6. Accident Prevention Tags:

Accident prevention tags shall be used as temporary

means of warning employees of existing hazard, such as
defective tools, equipment and scaffolding erection etc.
