Pacer training

1. Anyone can access PACER, but a valid credit card is required to create a PACER
account.
2. It costs $0.10 to view or retrieve one page or to conduct a search on PACER, even if no
matches are found. The maximum amount for a single document can be charged $3.00.
3. The maximum amount an account must reach before fees are waived or billed is $15.00.
4. On PACER, users can view and research case and docket information, documents filed in

5. Information protected from the public's view and inaccessible on PACER includes
personal data such as social security numbers, financial account numbers, and minors'
names.
6. In Forma, Pauperis (IFP) status allows a party to a case to file documents with the court
without paying the required fees.
7. In addition to written documents, docket lists, and transcripts, users can also access audio
recordings on PACER.
8. Non-attorneys who may register to e-file on PACER include court staff, law students, and
individuals authorized by a court to e-file.
9. The Public Calendar List (PCL) is a daily report that lists all cases scheduled for a
hearing or conference on a particular day. The PCL is updated each night.
10. A PACER Docket Report provides a summary of the case, including the parties involved,
the case's docket number, the judges assigned to the point, and a list of all documents
filed in the case.
