1. Project Background

Dasu Hydropower project is located in district Kohistan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, on the
Indus River, 7 km upstream of Dasu village, 74 km downstream of Diamer Basha Dam and 350
km away from Islamabad. WAPDA awarded a contract to a joint venture, Dasu Hydropower
Consultants, for preparation of a detailed engineering design and construction supervision of
4,320MW Dasu hydropower project to produce mean annual hydroelectricity of 18440 GWh. The
joint venture of consultants comprises two foreign viz. NIPPON KOEI Co. Ltd (NK), DOLSAR
Engineering Ltd. and three local companies’ viz. Development and Management Consultants
(DMC), National Development Consultants (NDC) & Pakistan Engineering Services Ltd.
consulting (PES). This project is funded by IFC and World Bank.

2. Environmental Monitoring parameters of DASU Hydro Power Project

According to the contract documents (i.e. EIA volume 6, EMAP volume 8, general condition of the
contract and BOQ) for all project components. The contractor is responsible and bound to hire the
services of Third Party Monitor to conduct tests at below different locations. Please see table -01.
Parameter are presented in table -02.

The contractor wants to collect sample from the following locations proposed by the engineer and
employer.
