Let’s check your routine. Read the text you have written.
After that, review the action verbs and watch this video:

Describe the person’s routine pretending it’s yours.

Now, we are going to talk about 3 important verbs in English:

WANT NEED HAVE TO

 WANT  It expresses the desire for something. I want a new car.

 NEED  It expresses the necessity of something. I need a computer.
 HAVE TO  It expresses an obligation. I have to work.

HAVE TO is always followed by another verb  I have to study.

WANT and NEED may be followed by a noun or a verb.

When followed by a noun, we simply add the noun.
When followed by a verb, we need to use the TO infinitive.

I want a new house. I need new clothes.

WANT NEED
I want to travel. I need to eat something.
These verbs are important because they show our needs, necessities and obligations.

They are very useful when people ask questions using WHY? – asking for reasons.

 Why do you go to the gym?  I go to the gym because I want to get in shape.
 Why do you work so much?  I work so much because I need a new house.
 Why do you study Portuguese?  I study Portuguese because I have to learn how to speak.

Let’s take turns asking each other questions like the ones in the example above.
Write 10 activities that you have in your routine.

Tell your partner your activities. He will ask you the reasons for these activities using
WHY do you…?
