2.1 Shipping
Move it on its own pallet or on a similar platform; use a fork lift, either manual or electric, provided it is ade-
quate for handling such appliances and it has the requisite lifting capacity (see table beside).
∆ The points to which forks or other lifting means should be applied are clearly shown in fig. 3: mini-
mum fork spacing 70 cm; make sure that forks are centred on the appliance mid-line and deeply introdu-
ced into the pallet.
Check that the appliance can surmount every existing obstacle, such as staircases, doors, etc. Never drag it by
the sides or any other part. If the case must be shipped, use only the original packaging, which ensures suffi-
cient stability during transportation.
∆ In view of the weight and operations involved in the start up, any displacement necessary at this
stage or any further moving or transportation, should be carried out by the licensed after sales service.
2.2 Storing
∆ As for storing the appliance, pay attention to the standardised symbols appearing on the packaging.
Storing temperature must be between -25°C and +55 C°, humidity between 30 and 95%. Keep the case safe
from direct sunlight and from the elements.
If the machine must be out of service for a long period before use, leave it in its original packaging, which gua-
rantees optimum protection. Make sure storing conditions correspond to the above requirements. If the case
must be out of service for a long period after use, be certain that it is materially disconnected from the electric
power supply, clean it thoroughly with lukewarm water and mild soap, then wipe it carefully and cover it with
its original plastic protection bag (see chapter 6.1).
2.3 Unpacking
1) Prior to accepting the case from the carrier, check the conditions of the package. If it is showing visible
damage, the machine might have suffered some consequences. If so, unpack the machine in the presence of the
carrier and sign, under protest, the delivery bill. The manufacturer assumes no liability for any damage caused
by transportation or incorrect storage.
2) Unpack the appliance with the utmost care to avoid damage. Mind splinters and nails especially. To take
the base off, remove the fastening screws.

children. Collect and keep for further transportation or long-term storage. (see Paragraph 2.2).
∆ Before connecting the appliance, check that the rating plate data correspond to those of the existing
electric network (fig.4). THE DISPLAY CASE MUST BE USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE PURPOSES IT WAS
EXPRESSLY DESIGNED FOR.
∆ The display case must not be installed in premises containing explosive gas substances.

3.2 Space required for installation, use and
maintenance
The case must be granted a reasonable free area on the front for customer service, maintenance and condenser
ventilation. Appropriate rear spacers grant the right distance from the wall (fig.8). Do not remove these spacers
for no reason whatsoever.
∆ Note: The cut-off switch must be in such a position as to be easily reached by the operator in the
event of an emergency (maximum distance 3 m).
fig. 10
3 OUVERTURE GB 26-04-2006 8:32 Pagina 7
∆ IMPORTANT: AHEAD OF THE CASE THERE MUST BE AN OMNIPOLAR CUT-OFF SWITCH WITH CON-
TACTS SPACING AT LEAST 3MM AND ADEQUATE CIRCUIT-BREAKING POWER.
The refrigerator must be installed by professionally qualified personnel, in accordance with the instructions pro-
vided by the manufacturer and local regulations. Incorrect installation may cause harm to persons, animals or
property. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for such damage. The case is supplied with power plug
and a 1.5 m long cord. Connection to wall socket should not exceed this length (fig.10).
∆ Make sure power supply voltage corresponds to that indicated on the rating plate of the refrigerator.
Consider also that the maximum allowable voltage variation is +/-6%.
The power cord must be properly spread and kept safe from blows, liquids or heat sources. Make sure it is in
perfect condition; otherwise have it replaced by duly licensed personnel).
∆ IMPORTANT: THE REFRIGERATOR MUST BE PROPERLY EARTHED. To this purpose, the supplied plug has
a specific contact. Be sure that the socket is provided with the corresponding earth terminal (fig.10), which
must comply with the regulations in force. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for any damage

PROTECTION
GRILLE CONDENSER
2) At least every 30 days clean the condenser with a
hard brush, taking off dust and
fig. 24 dirt from between the fins (fig.24). The condenser is lodged in the base fig. 25
of the display case, as shown on fig. 25; open the protection grille to
reach the condenser.
∆ Do not use metal brushes to clean the condenser. It is advisable to protect one’s hands with heavy
work gloves while cleaning the condenser.
3) Defrost the display case once every three months, to melt the ice that may have formed among condenser
3 OUVERTURE GB 26-04-2006 8:32 Pagina 15
a) Disconnect the case from the electrical power by the wall main cut-off switch (fig.22).
b) Empty the display case, store the contents in cold compartments or freezers that are adequate for the requisi-
te conservation temperature.
c) Wait until the case reaches ambient temperature.
d) Carefully clean the inside of the case with lukewarm water and mild soap. Then wipe thoroughly with a soft
cloth.
e) Only after checking that the inside has dried perfectly (let it dry longer if necessary) and start the refrigera-
tor by plugging it in again.
f) Allow approximately two hours before loading the foodstuffs again.
∆ To put the display case out of service, defrost and clean it as explained above and then cover it with
its original protection bag.
∆ IMPORTANT: During maintenance or cleaning operations, be sure that light in the working area is suf-
ficient. If necessary use an additional source of light.
Mind the hot and moving parts, which are marked with the respective symbols.
∆ The lamps of the case must be replaced by specialised personnel of the after-sales service only (chap-
ter 8).
∆ Any other maintenance operation not envisaged in the preceding paragraph 6.1 must be accompli-
shed by the licensed after-sales service or by qualified personnel. To this respect, consult chapter 8 of this
booklet.
∆ The user must not carry out any extraordinary maintenance operation.
If the refrigerator is not working, here are a few hints on trouble signs and their possible causes:
If power failure is not due to any of the above causes, call the nearest after-sales service immediately
(see chapter 8).
∆ If the cause of power failure is a fault in the case, YET ALSO DURING A GENERAL BLACK-OUT which
may put the refrigerator out of service for a long time, it is absolutely necessary to empty it and store the
foods in cold compartments or freezers that ensure conservation temperature.
3 OUVERTURE GB 26-04-2006 8:32 Pagina 16
∆ NEVER TAMPER WITH THE REMOTE THERMOSTAT. SHOULD DOUBTS ARISE OR MALFUNCTION PERSIST,
CONTACT THE NEAREST AFTER-SALES SERVICE (see par. 8)
In case of a gas leak, air the room that houses the case before attempting any repairs. DO NOT BREATH INSI-
DE THE ROOM BEFORE HAVING AIRED IT PROPERLY. Although harmless to be breathed, refrigerant replaces
oxygen in the air and may consequently cause suffocation symptoms.
∆ In case of fire, turn the refrigerator off by the main switch ahead (fig.22). To extinguish fire DO NOT
USE WATER but only dry extinguishers. All manufacturing materials are non-flammable, fire-proof or self-
extinguishing.
8.AFTER-SALES SERVICE
Should it be necessary to resort to technical assistance, contact your sales person immediately, explaining what
the fault is and clearly indicating some information on the case: model, serial number, power voltage and fre-
quency (data reported on the rating plate appearing inside the case - see fig.4).
If spare parts are needed, always resort to your after-sales service for part drawings and list.
∆ WARNING: request and insist on the use of original spare parts. Should it be necessary to replace the
power cord, make certain that the cross section and type are those recommended by the manufacturer
and that water-tightness is respected.

*If the capacitor is supplied with current (220 V) through its two contacts and then the contacts are
shortcircuited by a properly insulated metal tool, the capacitor should give a spark. If not, replace it.
**This is a very important step. The antiacid filter mounted on the suction line removes the oil acidity
caused by the burnt-up electric winding. Unless purified, the oil will burn out the new compressor
too.
