REGULAR VERBS

Most regular past simple forms are formed by


adding -ed to the infinitive of the verb.
brush > brushed
If a verb ends in -e, add -d
arrive arrived

X2+ed a verb ends in consonant + vowel + consonant,

the consonant is usually doubled before -ed.

drop — dropped

If a verb ends in consonant and -y, take off


the y and add -¡ed.
carry— carried
But if the word ends in a vowel and -y, add -ed.
display — displayed
