Who was David Koresh?

RTA: David Koresh was an American leader of a religious sect, that had about 80 followers. He
born on 1959. Koresh claimed to be a prophet. Also, he teaches his interpretations of the book of
revelation and the seven seals in his apocalyptic biblical to his followers.

What kind of crime did he commit?

RTA: He was responsible for the events from Waco siege which it was a siege, led by the FBI, it
left 86 people dead including Koresh. But that wasn´t all the crime. He convinces a lot of people
that he was the last prophet and he create Branch Davidians. He was accused of Child Abuse and
Statutory Rape and illegal carrying of weapons

When was it?

RTA:

 Waco siege was between February 28 of 1993 and April 19 of 1993.

 In March 1986, Koresh first slept with Karen Doyle, aged 14.
 In 1983 he began claiming the gift of prophecy.

Did he go to jail?

RTA: No, the FBI tried to arrest him, but they didn’t achieve. also, he died in the massacre of
Waco siege.

What do you think about this crime?

RTA: I think that this crime was a horrible event because David Koresh manipulates a lot of
people to do all the things that he wants. It was an event that could have been avoided. Because
at that time the sects were something that the government doesn’t take care of.

Have you learned about something similar in Colombia?

RTA: No, I haven’t heard a similar case of a religious leader. I kwon some sects but a similar
case I didn’t.
