Dear Dr.

Kibilda,
I am currently working as a Senior Telecom Engineer in Nepal Telecom Company which is the
largest and government owned company of Nepal. The company provides various services like
PSTN, ADSL, FTTH, IPTV, GSM and LTE. Company is currently preparing for launching pilot test
5G service in the specific parts of the country. During 6 and half years of affiliation with the
company since 2017, I have worked at different departments of the company exposing myself to
all the services company provides. I feel lucky to have my hands get dirty in different wireless
and wire line technologies, be it from Plain Old Telephone System to latest 5G service. In 2016, I
worked as an Electronics and Communication Engineer at Department of Hydrology and
Meteorology, Government of Nepal where I gained exposure to satellite communication,
RADAR communication and meteorological data acquisition for weather forecasting.
I have completed my Msc in Information and Communication Engineering from Pulchowk
Campus, Tribhuvan University in 2015. My thesis entitles “MIMO Channel Simulation and Analysis
for Mobile Ad Hoc Wireless Networks”. Similarly, I have completed my Bachelors in Electronics
and Communication Engineering from Pulchowk Campus, Tribhuvan University in 2012. My B.E
final year projects entitles “Drinking Water Supply Leak Detection and Control System where
acoustic sensor system, pressure sensor and microwave probing are used for leak detection, leak
localization and data logging.
Being the student and professional in the field of telecommunication, I have always been
fascinated by complexities of communication system and the way it is progressively including
every type of people, devices and services from across the globe using internet, cellular
communication, satellite communication and other latest technologies. And being from
developing nation, I have seen the transformative power of telecommunication technologies
closely in rural areas of my country and thereby creating foundation for socio-economic
development. As the world is at the advent of welcoming 6G, I want to be the part of your
research group and have contribution in the advancement of wireless technologies thereby
fulfilling my passion and goal of becoming leading researcher in wireless communications.
Thank you for considering my application and look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with
the esteemed research team.

Sincerely,
Rajendra Upadhyay
