PC3 Basic Configuration
VPCS> set pcname PC3
PC3> ip 172.16.3.3/24 172.16.3.254

PC4 Basic Configuration


VPCS> set pcname PC4
PC4> ip 172.16.4.4/24 172.16.4.254

Login to vManage with the default username and password admin/admin.

Navigate on your left side menu and open Configuration > Templates >

cEdge-System Feature Template:
Click on Feature and click on Add Template. On the left side, choose device type CSR1000v. On
the right side, choose System:

Here you can configure almost all the parameters that you find in the system part of the cEdge
router configuration. First give the Template Name and Description. For Site ID, System IP and
Hostname choose device-specific option.

Go down change Console Baud Rate (bps) to Global value and choose 9600. Finally leave rest of
the values default and click Save.

cEdge-system-vpn0 Feature Template:


Let’s configure the VPN0 interface. Create another feature template and select VPN.

Set the template name to cEdge-system-vpn0 and the default VPN is already set to 0:

I do need to add a default route. The default is global, which is fine because all my cEdge Routes
need this default route. Click on New IPv4 Route.

Choose Global value & type Prefix 0.0.0.0/0. Click on + Add Next Hop

Then once more on Add Next Hop.

Choose Device Specific and click Add to continue.

Click one Add one more time, and the default route will show up.

Default route has been configured. I don’t have to configure anything else here for VPN0. Click
on Save to save this feature template.

cEdge-system-vpn0-Gi1 Feature Template:


We created the VPN0 template, but we also need the feature templates for the Gi1 and Gi2
interfaces. Create another feature template and select VPN Interface Ethernet.

First, Let’s set a name and description. Under the basic configuration Shutdown setting global
and choose No and Interface Name set GigabitEthernet1.

Most of the configuration items are the same for all my cEdge routers. However, the IPv4
address is device-specific and Static.

Under the Tunnel choose Global setting, Tunnel Interface On and Color biz-internet.

Under Allow Service choose Global and On. I enable the tunnel-interface option and set the
correct color (biz-internet). I also allow all services. Click on Save to store the template.

cEdge-system-vpn1 Feature Template:


Let’s configure the VPN1 Template. Create another feature template and select VPN.

Give the Template a name and description of cEdge-system-vpn1. Under Basic Configuration,
specify the VPN as 1 (one).

Under Advertise OMP Connected (IPv4) choose global and make it On. Finally click Save.

cEdge-system-vpn1-Gi2 Feature Template:
From Configuration> Templates on the Feature tab, Add a new template. Search for CSR100v in
the search box and choose the CSR100v. Click on VPN Interface Ethernet to start creating our
VPN Interface Template.

Provide Template Name and Description, Under the basic configuration Shutdown setting
global and choose No and Interface Name set GigabitEthernet2

Tick Static choose device specific and Save.

Finally, all our Features templates are ready next is to create Device Template.
