Introduction
Organizational behavior is relatively a new field of research but one that seems so obvious
that is should definitely be studies. The article propositioned factors of the surrounding of
organizational behavior on how it can be used in expanding the overall capacity of an
organization and make the situation advantageous to all the players in the organization.
Organizational behavior refers to the manner in which persons and groups relate within and
towards an organization. Organizations have to take stock in their people and how they are
feeling in regard to the others within the company, leadership and the overall company
itself to maintain a positive environment.

Summary
The problems that affect the business capacity can be coped with and the capacity of the
business expansion. The structure of the business and businesses meetings are subject to
examination by organizational behavior which then determines how they affect the
behavior in the business environment, this information is then used in activities that
promote the success of the company. It is essential in any business setting to have a clear
understanding on how different behaviors can affect the structure, interactions, goals, and
conflicts within the business. Organizational Structure and Employees’ Innovative Behavior:
The Mediating Role of Empowerment is a journal review of a study conducted at Yeungnam
University in Korea consisting of 750 full-time employees of manufacturing organizations.
This journal review was interesting because the reviewing authors not only defined and
focused on innovating behaviors within the employees’, but they also directed their
approach to different business concepts and organizational structures while involving
hypothesis. Two main concepts, centralization and formalization and how these concepts
affected the behaviors and overall empowerment it played on the employees. Their findings
suggested that centralizing and formalization has a negative influence on the innovative
behavior of employees.

The authors defined centralization as a degree in which decision making is focused towards
the higher authorities of the organization and defined formalization as the degree in which
rules make up the relations, roles, norms, procedures and communications within the

organization. This is important to focus on when it comes to organizational behavior
because when these decisions are made by the higher levels of the organization the
employees aren’t involved in the decisions that affect them which causes them to have less
impact on what happens in their workplace. When behavior like this happens in a workplace
it can lead to a lower level of empowerment and motivation within the employees. The
authors describe that empowerment is a critical mechanism inn an organization because it
can affect the relationship between the organization structural factors and overall
employees’ behavior (Rhee, Seog, Bozorov, & Dedahanov, 2017).

Findings
The authors describe organizational behavior for focusing on the role of employee behavior
has on the organization. They state that employees’ behavior is one of the most important
roles in an organizations structure because it allows them to survive and run their business
operations successfully. Employees’ behavior is a critical asset that enables an organization
to succeed (Rhee, Seog, Bozorov, & Dedahanov, 2017). Without clearly understanding this
relationship a business can face conflicts within the management to have the ability to
correctly demonstrate effective leadership. Leadership is one of the main focuses when it
comes to success within the organization.

Organizational behavior is important because it gives a better understanding of why

individuals act as they do in business. It helps to have a better read on the behaviors
humans have in a business setting and looking deeper into the circumstances of that certain
behavior. With these behaviors creates a climate in an organization that can either help
increase or

undermine success. Organizational behavior is a critical aspect to focus on when operating

an organization’s system because both the staff and the management have to have a basic
understanding and recognize different patterns of behavior in individuals. That is why it is
important that leaders of the organization have knowledge and overall grasp of importance
of organizational behavior so that all staff and management can help create and shape the
organization’s conditions and systems.

In today’s modern society of business, it’s important to understand the basic business

concepts and know how to speak the language. There are both personal and professional
benefits of understanding these concepts, but in the long run it will only help progress in
you in your journey. There is one business concept that stuck out throughout this article and
that is concentrating on a social system. All organizations are social systems in their own
way. Every human has psychological needs. In this article it was demonstrated that the
individuals conducting the research put the needs of the employees first and concentrated
on what was affecting them and the different avenues to change this behavior. In business
everything is related and identified with everything else, so the actions of their higher
leadership played a more dramatic effect on their employees without them realizing it.
Every part of social system within an organization can have an impact on others and this was
further explained within the article.

Conclusion
The articles conclusion was that the structural factors within the organization (centralization
and formalization) had a negative impact on the relationship between the business and the
overall organization’s behavior. However, I noticed that the study did not provide a clear
understanding and conclusion on how the influencing of empowerment within the
organization played an effect on the organizational behavior.
