In the past few years however. our privacy and security has come into question. Some apps offer ‘end to end encription! which means that only the person using the app can see their messages. The people that have created the app de not have access. Now this technology is being questioned and even possibly subjected to new laws by government. The UK intends to passa bill called the “Online Safety Bil yw the government enforcement to scan apps for possible illegal activity. Thelr particular concern is for police not being able to access key evidence or children being groomed by online predators. This would also put the burden of maintaining user's privacy while keeping children his woul law safe on the tech companies. A burden some might not want to be troubled with, WhalsApp and Signal have already talked about ing their app out of the UK if this bill were to pass I believe thet this isa necessary step to protect ou smmunities and families from harm, In the last few years we have endured way too many mass shootings inthis country that could be prevented. in my opinion. As our technology advances we must also adapt and be able to use it asa resource for law enforcement and the government: Our privacy should come secondary tothe safety and we! being of others.
