Today, I went like to tell you story about “Kusno Sosrodiharjo”. Do you know who he is?

Well I gave you a clue.

He is the founding father of our nation and his famous quote “Jas Merah”- Never ever forget
history. I bet all of you, have already know, what I’m talking about. Yess, he is “Soekarno”, his
childhood was close to us, he have to move from one place, to another place following his father
who is a teacher and his father was always ordered him to memorize everything, so no wonder if
he became the smart boy.

Wait …How about his mother?, as descendante of balineses noble woman, his mother was
always, told their ancestor struggle. Since that the patriotism was take to his heart.

Soekarno as the young man was intens with the organization Jong Java, PUTRA, PNI and so all,
he became the one of the most critical person whom the Dutch anticipated.

“I hate Imperialism, I depress Colonialism” said bung karno in one of his stage.

He was determined, to take this nation free from the colonialism and the Dutch. He was never
afraid, giving his opinion agains the Dutch.

“If youo exile me, you want to the remote part of this world, my body will be in the jail but my
spirit will be free… ”

You know the Dutch, they exiled him to several places, to Digul in Papua, Ende in Nusa
Tenggara, and Bengkulu in South Sumatra.

What about Soekarno?

He witnessed, the society’s condition

He witness their pain

He believe and always believed that one day Indonesia will bw free from the colonizer.

In his exile, he wrote and throught everything, about this nation. And not only that when he wa
in Bengkulu, he met with a beautiful daughter of ones leader in Bengkulu.

What is her name?

Her name is Fatmawati.

Sing a Song

In a short, Soekarno married with Fatmawati. She always supported him, not only physically but
also mentally. In his hard time, Fatmawati was always beside him.

And the Japanese colonization, was about, to the end. Soekarno and the Youth group, was ready
to declare, the independence of Indonesia.

But Soekarno as the old group, he wanted to wait the Japan surrender, but the young group, they
wanted tomake it quick.
“Excussme mr Soekarno, we have to leave this place, you have to come with me, please mr
Soekarno, this is for you, this is for Indonesia” said Wikana as the one of the youth group.

They wanted to make Soekarno and Fatmawati have a clear mind in deciding the Independence
of Indonesia. Until they take Soekarno and Fatmawati on 15 August to Renggasdengklok. And
all agreed to declare the independence of Indonesia on 17 August 1945.

They prepare a lot.

Sayuti Melik typed the Proclamation text.

Others gave the message to leader around the Indonesia about the preparation.

Wait.. what about Fatmawati?

She prepared our national flag, Red and White flag, she sewed red flag and white flag into one.

Friday 17th August 1945

At 10 o’clock, all people gathered in front of Soekarno’s house, they wanted to witness, how one
nation be created. They wanted to be witness, how one nation can be free from the colonizer and
the Dutch.

After long time of struggle, after much of blood, lives, tiers and pain, had been sacrificed

Until today Indonesia will be free from the colonizer.

Indonesia will be in the New Era.

Proclamation

We the people of Indonesia, here by declare the Independence of Indonesia.

Matters, which concern the transfer of power and otherthings.

Will be execute by carefull means and in the shortest possible time.
