Objective:
The purpose of this activity is to gain hands-on experience configuring and securing a wireless router.
Activities:
Complete the tasks below by following the instructions provided by the lab instructor and referring to
the Linksys EA-Series User Guide “attached”.

Wireless Network Security
1. Host name set to your FirstInitialLastName (e.g., PSingh for Partap Singh)
Hint: Click Connectivity, Local Network tab, and then Edit
New Host name for wireless router: Enter here
2. Default wireless router password changed to a strong one
New password for wireless router: admin123
3. For 2.4 GHz wireless network:
o Network enabled
o SSID name set to FirstInitialLastName24 (e.g., PSingh24 for Partap Singh)
New SSID name for 2.4 GHz wireless network: cisco123
o Network mode set to Mixed
o Strong password configured for 2.4 GHz wireless network
New password for 2.4 GHz wireless network: cisco123
o Security mode (wireless encryption standard) set to WPA2 Personal
o SSID broadcast enabled.
Part D: Demonstrate to Lab Instructor that Smartphone can Connect to Wireless Router

Discussion:
Suggest 2 ways to secure the wireless router.
We can securely Turn off network name broadcasting and Keep your router's software up to date.
Conclusion:
in this lab, we learned about how to connect networks through routers to mobile phones via different
networks.
