A sample prayer of what Moremi would have said to Esinmirin.

"Oh, mighty Esinmirin, the guardian and queen of the sacred waters,
I have come before you with a very heavy heart, desiring your direction and
wisdom.
Our beloved city Ife is under constant threat, besieged by foes from an unknown
land.
Our people suffer, and our land cries out for deliverance from these strange people.

Grant me the strength and courage to be a beacon of hope for Ife,

To protect her people and defend our sacred home from harm's way.
I seek your divine counsel, oh revered spirit of the great river,
Show me the way to overcome our enemies, uncover their weaknesses.
An enemy to Ife is an enemy to you.

In exchange for your assistance, I am ready to offer you anything you want, even a
part of myself,
A piece of my soul, dedicated to the betterment of Ife and its people.
May the love I have for my homeland and my determination to rescue her be my
offering,
Help me secure the safety and prosperity of Ife for generations to come.

Guide me, oh Esinmirin, with your boundless knowledge,

Light up the path ahead, so I may serve Ife with wisdom and grace from you.
As the river flows, so shall my deep resolve remain unwavering,
Forever in service to Ife, for her well-being and glory.

With humility and gratitude, I implore your benevolence,

In the name of Ife, her people, and the ancestors who watch over us.
Esinmirin, hear my plea and bless me with your holy guidance."
