Page 4 Summary Lesson 1 Subject Pronouns We use the Personal Subject Pronouns to refer to the person who is doing the action of the verb. A subjective personal pronoun indicates that the pronoun is acting as the subject of the sentence. For example: John is listening to music. He listens to music every day. *In this case, "he" substitutes "John" which is the subject of the sentence. Personal subject pronouns go before the verb: I stay at home every morning. ‘You need another blanket. He wants to buy a new car. She is studying French. It barks a lot. (It is used to refer to things, animals and the weather: It is raining.) We never eat garlic. You read a lot.
