Introduction
We did a parabolic solar oven with the intention of heating or cooking a food.

The parabolic solar oven works when the sun's rays (in parallel) reach the oven and
are reflected directly to a focus, as the following photo illustrates:

The energy of sun's rays are concentrated in this focus, increasing their temperature
and causing the container or food placed there to heat up.

The heating process depends on the current climate and the position of the oven in
the sun.

Materials:

1- Umbrella - measurements - radius = 19 cm / height = 22cm.

5 - laminated cardboard

1- tube of Styrofoam glue

1 tube of glue

1 - silver spray paint

1 - one Tin

1 - one Wire

Assembly Process:
In we experiment of parabolic solar oven, we lined the inside of an umbrella with
laminated cardboard so that it covered a good part of it, leaving only the metal parts
uncovered

of the umbrella.

after lining, we painted the outside and glued some pieces of glass to better reflect
the sun's rays.

About the experiment

In the parabolic solar oven we have the direct conversion of the luminous
energy of the solar rays in thermal energy. noticeably its temperature.
direct conversion of light energy from the sun's rays into thermal energy,
● The focus temperature increases with the size of the reflecting dish;
Fast warm-up time compared to other solar models;
Requires direct sunlight;
It is necessary to follow the path of the sun with reorientation, usually every 30
minutes;
Sudden cooling of the food occurs if there is a deviation of focus or strong
cloudiness;
The process of reflecting the sun's rays and concentrating them at a focal
point at the bottom of the pan. The radiant energy concentrated in the material
will be partly reflected and the rest absorbed in the form of heat, being
transmitted to the pan by the heat transfer process.

● Calorimetry
In the experiment, Irradiation occurs because it can occur in a vacuum and
also in material media, and its transmission is done through electromagnetic
waves. The waves transmit the energies that are absorbed by the bodies. This
absorption causes a change in the movement state of the molecules, thus
modifying their temperature.

26/03/22 - we met for the first part of the montage, where the laminated
cardboard was glued and some adjustments were made, on this day we tried
to find the focal point and marked it with a tape (we hadn't glued the mirrors
yet.)

03/29/22 -
we glued the mirrors, painted, made the base with wood, cut and positioned
our container at the focal point and managed to get a few ml's of water
heating,

Conclusion:
With the experiment we have: a container at the focal point (which we found through
the test, feeling where the greatest heat was concentrated in the experiment),
heating water with the reflection of sunlight, using the principle of irradiation,
calorimetry and reflection of the concave spherical floor.
