WRITING ASSIGNMENT – LESSON _10_

Topic: Discussion Essay

Some people think that the internet has brought people together while others think that
people have become more isolated now. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

 1st draft

This essay will proceed to discuss both views for the given ideal which is based on my
personal knowledge.

Its undeniable internet is the greatest invention of humanity, considered the largest of
contribution to our world in long-distance connection. Nowadays we can keep in touch with
our relatives, friends, or lovers even if they are living in other Countries or nations just by a
tap on our smartphone. Furthermore, in 2020 a great epidemic caused almost 7 million
deaths every normal activity has stopped just 3 years ago. At that time internet revealed its
actual potential when people started chatting and working mostly with online platforms at
home without any close contact as the consequences of Covid 19 epidemic. That is evidence
of how important the internet is when a natural disaster or disease like the one I’ve
mentioned.

Even though it brings plenty of benefits for humans in contrast there are also created some
bad habits. Noticeable, self-isolated circumstance when depending on the handy part of the
internet that is a long-distance connection. People getting lazier because they are now doing
anything online like shopping, working even meeting their relatives. Those who already got
the idea of self-isolated may lose their sense to distinguish which is their living world and
which is a virtual world which may cause several unfortunate results especially depression
and the worst is leading them to suicide option.

To sum up everything that has been stated so far. The Internet is always considered a
mediator, it was created to help humans long-distance connect. And abusing its convenience
will generate plenty of problems in our life. In my point of view, the internet is not worth
abolishing tools, it depends on what we use for good reasons or abuse to do some futile
purposes. If you are manipulated by its handy sake that is a signal showing you are using the
internet for the wrong purposes. We should plan a specific timetable that includes all
internet activities to easier estimate and limit the using time of the internet.
