WORKS AT DANDORA NEW KPCU IN THE MONTH OF
NOVEMBER, 2021

INTRODUCTION

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives is implementing the


Coffee Revitalization Initiative under the National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth
Project (NARIGP). One of the main objectives of revitalization of the coffee industry is to
support improved market access for smallholder coffee producers through upgrading and
refurbishing of the New KPCU warehouses in Dandora. The duration for rehabilitation of the
Dandora New KPCU is from 15th September, 2021 to 29thMay, 2022.

The rehabilitation of Dandora New KPCU comprises of stores 5, 8 and 10, administration block,
guard house, weighbridge Control room water tank storage. The table below shows the
description of the rehabilitation works.

Preparation and application of three coats gloss oil
paint on both sides of metallic surfaces of main
sliding doors
- Ironmongery to office doors
Supplying and fixing ironmongery and all
necessary matching screws.
3 - Lever mortice lock with brass furniture
Preparation and application of three coats of
premium quality clear varnish to office doors both
internally and externally

4. Windows - Supplying and fixing purpose made mild steel casement
windows
- Ground smoothing all welds including fixing lugs to brick
and/or beams bedded in c/s 1:3 mortar and pointing all
round with mastic.
- Glazing
5mm Thick clear sheet glass in metal putty in
panes
- Window cill
125 x20mm Thick clay tile sill with one curved
edge including bedding and pointing in c/s (1:3)
mortar
Preparation and application of three gloss oil paint
on metallic surfaces of windows on both sides
- Window Grills
Supplying, welding and fixing grills at office
windows comprising of vertical and horizontal
members,

sticking window, replacing crank handle, move
window stops, replacing bent arm and broken rivet

surfaces of windows

Standard steel casement door comprising stiles,
bottom & top rail, & intermediate rails all primed
with red oxide complete with hinges, stays,
fasterners, permanent vent with mosquito gauze
and sheet metal hood assembled and fixed to
opening including
cutting and pinning lugs to walls surround and
bedding frame in cement and sand mortar (1:4)
- Preparation and application of three coats gloss oil paint
on both sides of metallic surfaces of doors

The main objective was to supervise the rehabilitation works at Dandora New KPCU

CONCLUSIONS
