ACCESS TO AND WITHIN SITE
The Contractor must ascertain the actual condition for being
materials, labour and plant to and within the site. Further, he
shall provide and maintain all necessasry temporary roads,
walkways, cross-overs stagings, bridges, surface water drains,
culverts and internal access for the construction of works and
clear away same on completion of the works.
Included
Attention is also hereby drawn that the Contractor will have to
share with other Contractors the use of common access and
approach roads to transport his materials, labour and plant etc. to
the site and no claims will be considered on the ground of
hindrance obstructions experienced due to the presence of other
Contractors being employed on or around the site.

5 TRIAL HOLES
The Contractor shall excavate all trial holes as directed by the
Engineer and shall perform all soil bearing tests to determine the

bearing capacity of the soil. The Contractor shall allow and
provide all the necessary equipment to carry out this test.
6 EXISTING SERVICES
The Contractor shall take all necessay steps to ascertain the
exact positions of existing cables, pipes, ducts, sewers, service
mains and the like and shall uphold, protect and maintain the
same during excavation and make good or pay for making good
all damage thereof and any consequential damage or loss arising
oul of such damage. lncluded
7 SEQUENCE OF WORK
The Engineer may, at his discretion direct the Contractor to give
priority to certain works or order the Contractor to do certain lncluded
works first.
8 PROGRAMME OF WORK
The Contractor shall submit as required, sufficiently detailed
works programme in triplicate showing the order or sequence tn
which he proposes to carry the various parts of the works, and to
the best of his knowledge the anticipated times for completion of lncluded
work including Prime Cost programme by the Engineer is
necessary.
It will be revised thereafter, as it is necessary when further
information becomes available but the Contractor shall not depart
from it and will be held responsible for the satisfactory progress
and completion of the works in accordance with the Condition of
Contract

9 PROGRESS REPORT
The Contractor shall prepare and submit to the Engineer daily
progress reports for the works at weekly intervals. The works
shall be including those of Nominated Sub-Contractor and Lump
indicating the number of workmen employed, materials and sum

16 INSURANCE
16.1 Contractors's All Risks

The Contractor shall effect and maintain a "Contractor's All Risks Lump

The Contractor shall ensure that the policy taken should cover at
least 15% of Contract Sum for Estimated total salaries, wages
and other money earnings.
The Contractor shall provide all necessary labour, plant and tools
for the proper and efficient execution of the works. He shall
provide for all transport for labour and for the movement of plant
and equipment to and from site.

22 EXISTING ROADS
The Contractor shall diverts as required all drains and other
walerways encountered during the progress of the works. Where
such diversions are temporary, the Contractor shall subsequently
reinstate to the approval of the Engineer.
The Contractor shall take over and maintain all the new roads
and shall be responsible for any damage to existing roads, kerbs,
drains, crossing, culverts, etc. caused by his workmen, vehicle or
plant or that of Nominated Sub-Contractors and Nomrnated
Suppliers, approaching or leaving the site and to maintain, repair
and reinstate the aforesaid to their original conditions to the
satisfaction of the Engineer for alternatively to bear the cost of lncluded
such maintenance and restoration as a deduction from any
money due to or become due to the Contractor under his
Contract.

25 WORKMANSHIP
All workmanship related to the permanent shall be skilled in so
far as the work required in the opinion of the Engineer. The
standard of workmanship shall be the best obtainable in the lncluded
region and to the requirement of British Standard Code of
practice.
29 SIGNBOARD
The Contractor is to provide and fix in a position to be determaned
by the Engineer a framed signboard size of required design and
wordings. The Contractor shall also pay all fees as required by Lump
local authonty for putting up the signboard. No other boards or 1 3,500 00

advertisement wlll be permited to be displayed on or around the
works. All boards are to be removed on completion of the works.
30 ORDERING MATERIALS
The Contractors shall place his orders for specified materials at
the earilest possible date after notification of acceptance of
tender or at such time as may be specifically stated elsewhere
herein for any particular materials.
The Contractor shall not enter into any agreement for the supply

of materials to the site unless written approval has been given by
the Engineer on those materials and the Employeer shall not be
held responsible for rejected material delivered to site and for
materials which have been over ordered by the Contractor.
31 SITE MEETINGS
The Contractor shall attend all site meetings to be called by the
Engineer at which a senior member of his staff and the foreman

full co-ordination ofthe Contract as well as to check the progress I ncluded
of works and resolved any problems. The Contractor shall inform
Nominated Sub-Contractors when their presence at the meeting

32 SAFETY MEASURES
The Contractor shall comply fully as regards providing all
necessary safety measures, safety helmets, safety boots, safety
belts, proper signboards and the like for workmen carrying out
the Works and any special precaution necessary for the safety of

38 POLICE REGULATIONS
The Contractor shall observe and comply with any police
regulations governing the loading/unloading of or waiting by
vehicles on public roads, highways and the like including the I ncluded
carriage of any materials, protective covering warning displays
etc. and to pay for all costs involved.
39 ANTI.POLLUTION MEASURES
The Contractor shall make adequate provision by spraying,
hosing, erecting screens or other suitable methods as directed by
the Engineer, against any nuisance or damage by dust or other Lump
pollution for work under this Contract and to persons or Sum

provision of temporary earth drains (including precast concrete

Engineer may direct.
The Contractor shall ensure that the water drained from the site
shall be kept reasonably free form earth, debris etc. He shall be
responsible for finding outlets for the discharge of the water
drained from the site to the public drains, he shall be responsible
for making arrangements with the Authorities to do so including
paying all necessary fees and making good damages to the
roads, drains etc.

43 SILTING
The Contractor shall be deemed to have visited the site and to
have ascertained the extent of desilitng to be done to the existing
monsoon drains so as to keep all the drains free of mud and
other obstruction before commencement of works. Lump

free from mud, silt and other obstructions and make good where
necessary to the satisfaction of the Engineer during the currency
of the Contract.
45 DISCREPANCIES IN DRAWINGS
The Contractor shall be responsible for checking all drawings
issued to him and if he finds discrepancies in the Drawings he
shall before proceeding with the Works, inform the Engineer of
such discrepancies and the Engineer's ruling shall be taken as

No claim by the Contractor for any extra costs incurred as a
result of discrepancies in drawings will be entertained if he fails to
inform the Engineer of such disrepancies before proceeding with

Where items of works have been provided as provisional or
where provisional sums have been allowed for in the Schedule of
Works, such works done shall not be covered up until the I ncluded
Engineer has been notified and has taken measurements and
other information.
50 SAMPLES
Where materials and fittings ar specified to be 'approved',
samples shall be submitted for approval at the earliest possible
date after acceptance of tender and before any order bulk
deliverv is made.
All samples which are approved will indicate the standards to be
maintained in the execution of the works and shall be so marked
and retained by the Engineer. In cases where samples are
rejected, further samples must be provided until they are lncluded
approved.
All samples submitted shall be free of charqe.
Where reference is made to trade names or manufacturer's
catalogue numbers, the Contractor may use materials or goods
similar and equal in standard to those described only if
specifically approved by the Engineer in writing.
51 PRESS STATEMENTS
The Contractor, his workmen or agents will not make any public
or press statement of any form or description which are
exasperative and detrimental to the intests of the Employer,

nor will divulge any information to the public concerning this
contract before or after the completion of the works.

53 CLEANING UP PERIODICALLY
All rubbish shall be cleared from the site and buildings under
construction from time to time as it accumulates and as the
Engineer may direct. Lump

57 AS-BUILT DRAWINGS
On completion of the works, Contractor must prepare and submit
to the Engineer 3 sets of as-built drawing for all scope of
construction works. For infrastructure works layout, the drawing
shall be prepared and certjfifed by a licensed surveyor. For
structural works all the drawings must be duly endorsed by the Lump

Contractor Site Agent and License Surveyor. The As-Built Sum
drawings shall include a set of soft copy (AutoCad R2000 or
above). Note: This is a compulsory item to be quoted.

59 MOSQUITO PREVENTION
All excavation and portion of site where water stagnates or
accumulates will be kept dry by pumping, baling or other
operations.
Allow for taking such precautions as maybe deemed necessary
or desirable by the Engineer for the prevention of breeding of
mosquito and pay all charges as may be required by the Local
Authority concerned for any antimalaria measures taken.

The Contracor must refrain from dumping or depostting rubbish, 1 3,500 00

spoil, unused materials, empty bottles, cans and other containers
capable of collecting liquids which afford breeding places for
mosquitoes. The Contractor will be held responsible for mosquito
nuisance at the site and surroundings arising from non-
observance of the provisions of this Clause and will be required
to empty whatever mosquito destructive measures to the
Engineer's direction at the Contractor's own expenses.
60 WORKING HOURS
No restrictions are placed on the Conractor on the working hours
on site, but he shall comply with all current Bye-laws, Rules and
Regualtions affecting work and labour and also the
National/Public Holidays etc. of the state. The Contractor shall
also note that there may be residence, Mosque, Schools,
Hospital, Offjces and the like at close take these into lncluded
consideration whilst performing work which may be a cause of
public disturbance.
61 STAMPING CHARGES
The Contractor shall allow for stamping charges for preparing
contract documentations (minimum 4 copies). The Contract Lump

2.3.1 The payable length for the supply, deliver, unload, handle,
transport and pitch of pile shall be the actual number and length
delivered and subsequently incorporated into the works.
2.3.2 The payable length for driving shall be measured for the actual
penetration lengths of each pile into the ground from the toe of
driven pile to piling commencement level at particular pile pojnt.
Allow for moving and handling piling equipment, plant, tools and
ancillary equipment about the site as often and whenever
necessary for the execution of the whole piling operation
