Overview of the module
• This module covers how to systematically approach conducting
research
• A) Practical part
-cutting-edge research methods and analysis techniques

• B) Taught part
-Understanding and gaining exposure to research and reporting it
effectively in writing
-training in communication skills useful for research activities (e.g.,
poster presentation, giving a talk, writing a press release)
- Research skills (e.g., data management, academic integrity)

1. Pre-session will consist of pre-recorded lectures and small tasks

2. Live lectures will be time for practice/group work/ Q+A

3. Post session will consist of reading tasks or independent skills work


which will then be used in class (e.g., prepare a draft poster)
