HOW TO USE THE GUIDEBOOK:

This guidebook will be sent to teachers who work with

middle school kids. They can use this guidebook as a

reference and a source of engaging activities to share

with their pupils. The book contains six interactive

games, each with its own set of instructions and rules

that the teacher can use with his or her students.

I
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our

Professor Dr. Irene P. Solano for providing us the

possibility and guiding us in introducing and establishing

this type of project that will eventually and productively

help both students and teachers achieve better learning

in the field of mathematics. We were able to demonstrate

our exceptional expertise and originality thanks to this

opportunity. We hope that this manual is as effective and

useful as we believe it is.

INTRODUCTION

Mentorship and Training for People with Mathematical Intelligence is a project that
attempts to deliver motivating instructional courses to students in order to
discover their potential in Math.

Students can actively participate in this session by exploring program activities

geared at promoting problem-solving patterns and approaches through the use of
high-quality learning challenges and questioning techniques. We chose to work on
this project because we believe that providing children with mentorship and
guidance can help them grow their minds and change their perspectives towards
mathematics. We believe that this would be tremendously beneficial for those
who have potential but are struggling and afraid to pursue it. When we hear the
word math, the first thing that comes to mind is that it is difficult to understand,
which we have come to believe over time. Our group was inspired to launch this
program, which aims to help children and individuals realize their full math
potential and understanding. This project will contain a range of activities,
exercises, and problem-solving activities that will be fun and interesting for kids in
grades 3 to 6. This project will help them since it will enable them to identify their
abilities and will be effective and efficient in transforming their fear of mathematics
into a source of strength. This effort will excite pupils and serve as a motivator for
them to view mathematics positively when they are still young, and to believe that
mathematics is not really that difficult when you enjoy it. To focus on a variety of
problem-solving patterns and procedures, we used high-quality learning and
questioning methodologies. In psychology study, reasoning questions are
regarded to be extremely insightful into decision making, critical thinking, and
logical deduction, with the exception that the general population has difficulty
answering them correctly.

In addition, in order to help individuals progress, we propose this program to

educate them and many more children to discover their math potential and
embrace the essence of math.

UNIT 1: INTERACTIVE GAMES

Participants in this Math Workshop are grouped by grade

level. They range from grades 3 to 6. As a result, this

session is jam-packed with exciting, creative, and

interactive activities that children will undoubtedly love

while also learning. We planned a quiz-bee session, team-

building activities, task cards, performance tasks, math

bingo, math jingle, and surveying and graphing. Here's how

we're going to carry out these tasks:

2
UNIT 2: QUIZ- BEE

In this game, children will be divided into groups based on their grade levels
so that the scope of the questions corresponds to their understandings. In
each grade level, a team will be formed with five kids each team. The quiz-
bee questions are also classified as easy, average, and difficult. Students
must complete their answers in the allotted time, and there will be a tally of
scores for each category. The top ten teams in the easy category will
advance to the average level, and the top five highest team scores in the
average level will qualify to continue in the difficult level.

3
UNIT 3: TEAM BUILDING OR TREASURE HUNT

Participation from all grade levels is required for this activity. Again, they will be
divided into equal groups to ensure that all teams have present grade levels
ranging from 3-6. They will have to travel to various stations in order to find a
reward. Every station has a puzzle or equation to solve, and if they get the proper
solution and answer, they will be awarded with a key, which they will also need to
open the treasure box in the last station. The first team to successfully open the
treasure box wins.

4
UNIT 4: TASK CARDS OR PERFORMANCE TASKS

Students are divided into groups based on their grade level for this exercise. This is
similar to a classroom setting in which students are gathered and our team will
provide a mini-lesson and background introduction to the activity that we will give
them. We'll give each pupil one card and have them answer the puzzle on their
own. They will then present it to us, and we will perform computation checks and
answer confirmation. We shall group them again for their performance task to
match with certain real-life situations. This will entail problem solving and
estimating in order for children to determine the correct measurement of objects
required to solve the situation..

5
UNIT 5: MATH BINGO

This mathematical game is guaranteed to be a hit with our learners. You can
practice whatever skill you desire, such as addition, subtraction, or number
sequencing. The game is played similarly to normal bingo, except that student
must answer arithmetic problems to determine which number to mark off their
sheet.

6
UNIT 6: SURVEYING AND GRAPHING

We'll ask each student to come up with a question about which they'd like to poll
their peers. For example, they could ask their classmates which of the following
animals is their favorite: a dog, a monkey, a pig, or a chicken. Allow students time
to go around the area quizzing each other and collecting data. Once students
have gathered sufficient data, we will invite them to represent their findings by
creating a bar graph with linking cubes, blocks, or Legos. They can make labels for
each bar using sticky notes or scraps of paper. Take a picture of each student's
graph, which they can then use to make a class collage to present.

7
UNIT 7: MATH JINGLE

This is a fun activity to do. Because kids will incorporate music and art into this
project, it will serve as a reprieve from arithmetic problems they did from the
previous activities. There is no time limit; they only need to write a song about
mathematics. It might be their own music, or they can use tunes they like as a
basis for their Math Jingle. They can also include a dancing step to make it
livelier and more entertaining. This is applicable for all grade levels
