W JDS 117 is withdrawn and replaced by JDM F23. No drawing changes are required due to the withdrawal
of JDS 117. If a drawing specifying JDS 117 is being revised for other reasons, review the plating note
and update appropriately.

I The requirements for JDM F23 shall be met with the following clarifications. I

 If a part with JDS 117 designation is a fastener as defined by JDM F23, requirements shall be
in accordance with JDM F15 and Table 1 of this withdrawal notice.
 If a part with JDS 117 designation is a hydraulic tube or hydraulic connector, requirements shall

be in accordance with JDM F19 and Table 1 of this withdrawal notice.

Table 1 lists the JDM F23 and JDM F19 replacement color appearance conversion coating designations

The designation of zinc cobalt coating is discontinued and zinc cobalt coating shall not be applied to
John Deere parts or assemblies. Table 2 provides a cross-reference from JDS 117 coating designations
to the JDM F15 coating designations.
